Ager House
House Interior: Progress

In the last newsletter we reported that, through the generosity of Waldemar Ager’s granddaughter, Ella Fossum, one of his bookcases had been returned home to his study.

We are happy to announce that we were able to acquire the other two matching bookcases from the home of Gudrun Bergh. We were helped out by contributions to our “Opportunity Fund,” and by assistance from Gudrun’s daughters, Barbara Culver and Karren Bloom. Gudrun donated a large wool rug and several books. Barbara Culver donated a brass table lamp she remembers in the living room when Waldemar and his family lived in the house.

Borgny Ager donated a desk chair that her father, Eyvind, said was used by Waldemar in his study. It was Eyvind’s wish that it be given to the Ager House. Borgny also donated several of her grandfather’s old books and several plates for the dining room plate rail. Ken and Lynne Ziehr donated a wood chair from the Reform Office and some plates they purchased at the Bergh sale. Charles Ivey brought us a gooseneck lamp last fall that looks at home next to the old typewriter in the study.

It seems fitting to have Ager’s study be the room that now looks and feels quite as it did when he sat there working.

We thank the donors and are pleased to have these additions in the house. We invite you to see them the next time you visit.
