Advent
at the Ager 2007 a hit
EAU CLAIRE,
December 2, 2007 — Over 40 guests joined the members of
the Waldemar Ager Association at it annual "Advent at the
Ager" celebration, with activities for all ages and traditional
Norwegian holiday treats. The celebration took place at the
Ager House at 514 West Madison St., historical home of 20th
century Eau Claire author and editor Waldemar T. Ager.
Children decorated
cookies and made paper chains, then hung them on the Christmas
tree in the front parlor. Roberta Sperstad played carols on
the old pump organ, and people gathered around to sing and dance
around the tree, including the house's red-capped julenisse.
Ager great-granddaughter
Kristine Bejin read excerpts of Christmastime
letters from Mrs. Waldemar Ager to son Magne, and guests
enjoyed eating risengrøt, sandbakkels, flatbrød,
krumkake, and many other traditional holiday treats.
Advent
at the Ager is an annual event; watch the papers and this website
for details.
